About Our Practice

Our Story

Caring for the Upper Cape, One Patient at a Time

At Bourne Family Medicine, we believe exceptional healthcare begins with a relationship.

For more than two decades, we’ve been helping individuals and families throughout Bourne and the Upper Cape live healthier lives through compassionate, personalized medical care. We take the time to listen, answer questions, and understand each patient’s unique health goals, creating care plans that are as individual as the people we serve.

Whether you’re visiting for a preventive checkup, managing a chronic condition, or seeking care for a new concern, our team is committed to providing thoughtful, evidence-based medicine in a welcoming environment where you feel comfortable, respected, and truly cared for.

Our mission is simple: to provide the kind of healthcare we’d want for our own families.

Meet Our Providers

Experienced Providers. Compassionate Care.

The providers at Bourne Family Medicine share a common philosophy: great healthcare is built on trust, communication, and lasting relationships. Together, we work to provide comprehensive primary care that supports patients through every stage of life.

Dr. Dana Zweig

Dr. Dana Zweig was born in New York City and raised on Long Island. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Zoology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 1978 before attending the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York, where she received her Doctor of Medicine degree in 1983.

She completed her Family Medicine residency at St. Margaret Memorial Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. As a recipient of a National Health Service Corps Scholarship, Dr. Zweig fulfilled her service commitment by practicing in rural West Virginia for four years. During that time, she also served as an Assistant Professor of Family Medicine at the Marshall University School of Medicine in Huntington, where she enjoyed caring for underserved communities while helping educate future physicians.

From 1990 to 1997, Dr. Zweig practiced Family Medicine in Worcester, Massachusetts. She then took a sabbatical to study Ayurvedic medicine in Albuquerque, New Mexico, deepening her appreciation for a whole-person approach to health and wellness.

In 1998, Dr. Zweig married and moved to Cape Cod. After practicing with Jordan Hospital for two years, she founded Bourne Family Medicine in 2001. For more than 25 years, she has been dedicated to providing compassionate, comprehensive primary care to individuals and families across the Upper Cape. Her philosophy centers on building lasting relationships with patients, emphasizing preventive care, and partnering with each person to achieve their best possible health.

Outside the office, Dr. Zweig enjoys spending time with her family. Her son, now 22, is pursuing his passion for dance, and her husband is a retired chef, caterer, and restaurateur. She feels honored to care for generations of local families and is grateful for the trust her patients place in her every day.
